the characters are v emotionally manipulative and gaslighting towards each other, which the game may or may not romantisize depending on interpretation, and i guess it's debatable whether an edgy game about murder and cannibalism is the right medium to tackle such topics, but given that i experienced a lot of gaslighting and stuff myself i think i'm kinda free-ish to ignore that, imo. which is what this post references, i think

(the game also contains murder, cannibalism, organ harvesting, incest, bank fraud, robberies and pacts with the devil, but those aren't parts that my post was referring to)
